How I Got Started Investing in Tax Liens
My good friend the late Willie "Air
Tight" Hicks and I were setting around and he said to me. "We
need to make some money." I said, "yeah, doing what?"
He said, "real estate." I immediately thought about people
tearing up property and not paying rent. Needless to say I
wasn't too interested. About a year later he asked me
about buying property again. He told me about the Carlton
Sheets Program, remember that program? I remember those
late nite info commercials that guaranteed fortune and fame.
I still wasn't interested, nevertheless he convinced me to
review the program. After I reviewed it I concluded you
could make money, but I thought some of the concepts where
border line un-ethical. It was taking advantage of someone
not knowing the in's and outs of real estate. So the
"Win-Win" philosophy was only truly valid in my opinion if
the buyer and seller never found out certain details of the deal.
Anyway, a couple days later after reviewing the program I got a
call from my brother and he made a statement about wanting to
make extra some money too. I asked him, "you got any ideas?"
He says, "Real Estate." I'm like ok, the Creator must be
trying to tell me something. The closes two people to me
are saying the same thing. So I started to dig a little
deeper in the real estate arena. In my search I stumbled across
some tax lien investing information. Once I read it, I was
like this sounds pretty interesting. The cost to start was
what caught my eye as well as the return on your investment.
So, I started working on a plan. My intent was to make a
smooth transition into real estate, leaving my full time job
behind. I set two goals to aid in my transition. My first
goal was to generate cash flow, which is simple receiving income
on a continual bases. In doing this I could live my day to day
life the way I wanted. My second goal was to generate
wealth. I was wanting to save income for future endeavors,
other business opportunities, retirement, etc. Pretty simple
So I jumped in with both feet... without looking. I
thought I knew what I was doing. After all I had read books,
articles and research the topic thoroughly... I knew it all
right? Wrong! I will tell you there is no substitution
for someone with experience to showing you how it's done, beginning to end
and everything in between. That is the key, along with
having the right and best information on the subject!
Well, to make a long story short I survived. I did
leave my full time job and this is my main income source.
My background is IT, so making this website was easy and fun. I
like the tax lien and tax deed investing because when it's cold
outside I can work in the office and when it's nice outside I
can work at a property or go check out potential properties that
may be available at the next Tax-Sale.
So the weather kinda plans my week.
All in all, I think if I had it to do all over again, knowing
what I know now. How many times have you heard that?
I'd be retired and vacationing somewhere where the water is
clear and the breeze is cool.
So now let me tell you about my course. This is not a get rich quick
program, its a self-pace course. It's very simple to
understand and it's only 1 book less than 40 pages (i.e. less is
more). In my opinion this is best, safest, and the most inexpensive
way to make money in the real estate investing arena. Benefits
of being my
own boss, setting my own hours and I pretty much do what I want
when I want how I want.
Finally, if you do decide to get into tax liens and deeds
investing and use my course, you will no doubt be more
knowledgeable than me when I started. Meaning you won't
make the mistakes I made saving you time and money. Plus, you will always be able to
contact me for advice and/or questions.
